Private Airport Transfers from JKIA

A pre-booked private transfer means a driver meeting you at arrivals with a name sign, a fixed per-vehicle price agreed before you land, and your flight monitored so a delay doesn’t strand you. Routes cover Nairobi hotels, Wilson Airport and the safari circuits.

Fixed price

Per vehicle, agreed upfront

No meter, no negotiating at the kerb, luggage included.

Flight monitored

Delay-aware pickup

The driver tracks your flight and adjusts to the actual landing.

Times vary

Traffic is the variable

Journey times are estimates, never guarantees — plan buffers.

How transfer pricing works

Transfers are priced per vehicle, not per person, for a fixed route — so a family or group pays one fare. The price is confirmed in your quote before you commit, in KES or USD, and includes the driver, fuel and normal luggage.

Price basis: per vehicle · one-way or return · quoted before booking · currency stated on the quote

Where we transfer from JKIA

Each route page carries the detail that matters for that journey — timing, vehicles and the route’s specific catches.

How a JKIA pickup works

  1. Book with your flight numberRequest a quote with your flight, date, passengers and destination. We confirm the vehicle and the fixed price before you commit.
  2. We monitor your flightThe driver tracks the actual arrival time, so an early or delayed landing moves the pickup with it.
  3. Meet your driver at arrivalsAfter baggage and customs, your driver waits in the arrivals area with a name sign. A waiting-time allowance covers immigration and bags.
  4. Fixed-price ride to your doorStraight to your hotel, Wilson Airport or safari destination at the agreed price — no meter, no renegotiation.

Journey times are estimates. Nairobi traffic swings widely — the Expressway helps, but rush hour on Mombasa Road can double a trip. For connections (especially JKIA–Wilson) build generous buffers; see connecting flights.

Vehicles and who they suit

We recommend the vehicle from your group size and luggage rather than upselling. Capacities below are practical with airport luggage, not the licence maximum.

Saloon car

Best for 1–3 passengers with standard luggage — the right pick for most solo travellers and couples heading to a Nairobi hotel.

Minivan

Best for 4–7 passengers or families with more bags. Comfortable for groups into the city and for Naivasha-type road trips in the dry.

4×4 Land Cruiser

The safari workhorse — needed where roads get rough (Masai Mara gates and camps especially) and for game-drive add-ons. We’ll say when a 4×4 is genuinely necessary rather than a luxury.

Child seats & extras

Child seats can be requested at booking — tell us ages so the right seat is fitted. Oversized luggage (golf bags, dive kit) is fine if declared upfront so the vehicle fits it.

JKIA transfers: frequently asked questions

How much is a private transfer from JKIA?

Transfers are priced per vehicle for a fixed route, so the fare depends on your destination and vehicle, not your group size. Request a quote with your flight and destination and the desk replies with a fixed price in KES or USD before you book — we don’t publish figures that go stale.

Where does the driver meet me at JKIA?

In the arrivals area, after you clear immigration, baggage and customs, holding a sign with your name. International arrivals exit at Terminal 1E and domestic at 1D; your booking confirmation states the exact meeting arrangement for your terminal.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Your flight is monitored, so the pickup follows the actual landing time rather than the schedule, and a waiting-time allowance covers immigration and baggage. That is the main advantage over hailing a ride after you land.

Is the transfer price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle. One fare covers everyone in the vehicle for the fixed route, with normal luggage included, which usually makes a private transfer good value for two or more people compared with per-person options.

How long is the transfer from JKIA to Nairobi city?

Off-peak, the city centre is commonly around 20 to 30 minutes via the Expressway; in heavy traffic it can take an hour or more. Treat all journey times as estimates and build a buffer, especially for onward connections.

Can you transfer me from JKIA to Wilson Airport for a safari flight?

Yes — it is one of the most common routes, and the most time-critical, because Wilson is a separate airport reached by road after you clear immigration and collect bags. Allow three hours or more end to end; the Wilson transfer page covers the timing in detail.

Do you provide child seats?

Child seats can be arranged when you book — tell us the children’s ages in the quote form so the right seat is fitted. Request them at booking rather than on the day, as availability can’t be guaranteed at pickup.

When do I pay for the transfer?

Nothing is charged on the quote form. You receive a fixed quote naming the provider, price and terms, and payment is taken only after you confirm it. Cancellation and no-show terms are shown on the quote before you pay.
